LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 237
ORDERING THE TRANSFER OF CASES WITH THE MILITARY TO CIVIL JUDICIAL AUTHORITIES

With the end view of attaining in the earliest possible time the objectives of General Order No. 49, dated October 4, 1974, which redefined the jurisdiction of military tribunals, it is hereby directed that the transfer of cases with the military which, under General Order No. 12, as amended, and related General Orders, were within the exclusive and concurrent jurisdiction of the military tribunals created pursuant to General Order No. 8, dated September 27, 1972, and Presidential Decree No. 39, but over which the civil courts now have exclusive jurisdiction under General Order No. 49, be immediately effected, hastened and speeded up.
The Secretary of National Defense shall promulgate the requisite rules for the efficient and orderly transfer of the cases to the civil judicial authorities.
DONE in the City of Manila, this 21st day of December, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Four.
