PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1163
TRANSFERRING THE CAPITAL AND SEAT OF GOVERNMENT OF THE PROVINCE OF CAVITE FROM TRECE MARTIRES CITY TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF IMUS
WHEREAS, it has been the popular clamor among the inhabitants of Cavite to transfer the capital and seat of government of their province to a more accessible place to accelerate its development; cdt
WHEREAS, despite all national and local government efforts, Trece Martires City still remains, as it was before, very inaccessible to the public and it has failed to become a center of activities in the province as originally envisioned; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to give the province of Cavite all the opportunities for social, economical and political development under the New Society;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree:
SECTION 1. The Capital and seat of government of the Province of Cavite is hereby transferred to the Municipality of Imus.
SECTION 2. Lot No. 4711 of the Imus Estate, is hereby designated as the government center site for the Province of Cavite.
SECTION 3. The expenses which shall be incurred in said transfer shall be taken from the local government share in the national internal revenue allotment and from the allocation by the national government to the Province of Cavite. aisa dc
SECTION 4. Section 39 of Republic Act No. 981 which transferred the capital and seat of the Province of Cavite to Trece Martires City is hereby repealed.
All other laws, decrees, rules or regulations inconsistent with this Decree are hereby modified, amended or repealed accordingly.
SECTION 5. This Decree shall take effect immediately.
DONE in the City of Manila, this 11th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Seven.
