Survey and Systematic Classification All Lands Within Public Domain
Letter of Instructions No. 138, issued on October 22, 1973, by President Ferdinand E. Marcos, mandates the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources to oversee the classification of public agricultural lands in the Philippines. This initiative aims to identify lands for resettling displaced or landless farmers as part of the land reform program, while also categorizing areas for other agricultural uses, logging, reforestation, parks, wildlife sanctuaries, and mineral development. The classification process is intended to inform government policies and assist potential investors in identifying available lands for development. The directive emphasizes the need for a systematic survey of public domain lands to optimize their use and benefit the agricultural sector.
