Relative to the implementation of the Gender Responsive Economic Action for the Transformation of Women Project 2 (GREAT Women 2) of which DOST is a key implementing partner and member of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) together with the Philippine Commission on Women, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Labor and Employment, all Regional Directors and concerned provincial officials are hereby directed to support the implementation of the project.
To ensure the harmonization and coordination of support for the project and the target women micro-entrepreneurs, you are likewise urged to participate in the creation and operationalization of a regional convergence group (RCG) that is intended to serve as the coordinating mechanism for the purpose. In this regard, please coordinate with your counterpart from the partner agencies mentioned above who have been similarly directed by their respective officials who are part of the PSC.
The RCG will be expected to: a) identify and profile women micro-entrepreneurs to be assisted by the agency partners under the project; b) assist/lead in the conduct of a gender responsive value chain analysis involving stakeholders to identify the needs of WMEs; c) prepare an action plan for the interventions which will be incorporated in the work plans of concerned national agency partners for purposes of fund allocation and downloading; d) facilitate required interventions for the WMEs and monitor the same; e) coordinate with the central office project implementing team who are also members of the National Convergence Group (NCG) on matters related to the project. It is understood that all the concerned partner agencies will agree in how to work together for the task identified above.
