Subjecting Only Non-Accredited Private Schools for Institutional Quality Assurance Monitoring and Evaluation
Executive Order No. 705, issued on January 2, 2008, mandates that only non-accredited private schools in the Philippines will undergo Institutional Quality Assurance Monitoring and Evaluation (IQUAME) by the Commission on Higher Education. Schools accredited by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) will automatically be recognized as accredited by IQUAME, thereby streamlining the accreditation process and reducing duplication of functions. Additionally, IQUAME is intended to serve both regulatory purposes and provide incentives for accredited institutions. This order aims to enhance the quality of education while simplifying oversight mechanisms.
