LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 387

You are hereby directed to study and to recommend on an improved mechanism for computing the salary and allowances of foreign affairs personnel on duty abroad, taking into account:
1. Costs of living in the various diplomatic stations abroad.
2. Standard practices of foreign diplomatic services in the denomination of the salaries/allowances of their personnel. cdt
3. Improvements in the existing formula translating peso salary costs into US dollar equivalents.
4. Possible improvements in the existing system which uses consular receipts and other income as cash advance to meet the costs of offices abroad. cdt
A report should be submitted within thirty (30) days.
