Splitting Region 4 Into Region 4 and Region 4-A for the Bureau of Posts
Presidential Decree No. 268, issued on August 4, 1973, reorganizes the postal regions of the Philippines by splitting Region 4 into two distinct regions: Region 4 and Region 4-A. This change aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of postal services, as Region 4 was deemed too large and operationally challenging. Region 4 now includes Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Romblon, Palawan, and certain cities, with Manila as its regional center, while Region 4-A consists of Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, and several other provinces and cities, with San Pablo as its center. Additionally, new positions for regional management will be created to support this reorganization.
