Separating the City of Mandaue from the Sixth Legislative District of the Province of Cebu to Constitute the Lone Legislative District of the City of Mandaue

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 11257
AN ACT SEPARATING THE CITY OF MANDAUE FROM THE SIXTH LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT OF THE PROVINCE OF CEBU TO CONSTITUTE THE LONE LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF MANDAUE
SECTION 1. The City of Mandaue is hereby separated from the Sixth Legislative District of the Province of Cebu to constitute the Lone Legislative District of the City of Mandaue, which shall commence in the next national and local elections after the effectivity of this Act.
SECTION 2. The incumbent Representative of the present Sixth Legislative District of the Province of Cebu shall continue to represent the said district until the new Representative of the Lone Legislative District of the City of Mandaue shall have been elected and qualified.
SECTION 3. The Commission on Elections shall issue the necessary rules and regulations to implement the provisions of this Act within thirty (30) days after its effectivity.
SECTION 4. All laws, rules and regulations which are inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation. cHDAIS
