Salary Standardization of Government Civil Engineers
Republic Act No. 5981, enacted on August 4, 1969, standardizes the salaries of government civil engineers in the National Government, excluding those in government-owned and controlled corporations performing proprietary functions. It authorizes adjustments to the old salary rates, aligning them with new salary ranges for various civil engineering positions. Incumbents will retain their positions and adjusted salaries without requiring new appointments. Funding for these salary adjustments is to be sourced from savings in the respective offices' appropriations, and future allocations will be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. The Act takes effect upon approval and repeals any conflicting laws or regulations.
