SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 133
RESOLUTION CONDEMNING IN THE STRONGEST SENSE THE MURDER OF BUSINESSMAN AND PHILANTHROPIST DOMINIC SYTIN AND URGING THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL POLICE (PNP) AND OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO USE THE FULL FORCE OF THE LAW TO BRING JUSTICE TO DOMINIC SYTIN AND OTHER VICTIMS OF SIMILAR HEINOUS CRIMES
WHEREAS, on the evening of 28 November 2018, prominent businessman Dominic Sytin was murdered after he was shot in the head by unidentified motorcycle-riding men just outside a hotel in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone;
WHEREAS, according to news reports, the perpetrators waited for hours outside the hotel where Dominic Sytin was staying before performing the vile act;
WHEREAS, Dominic Sytin, a man of strong humanitarian values, was engaged in numerous businesses including an industrial auction company, a car-assembly plant, resorts, and one of the country's biggest chemical companies;
WHEREAS, aside from being a known entrepreneur, Dominic Sytin, a University of the Philippines (UP) alumnus, was also known as a supporter of the Philippine Red Cross, and the UP volleyball team;
WHEREAS, the Senate of the Philippines condoles with the bereaved family and loved ones of Dominic Sytin;
WHEREAS, the Senate of the Philippines urges the PNP and other concerned agencies to resolve this brutal and senseless crime with utmost urgency, and to hold accountable those responsible for this monstrous act, and to bring justice to other victims of similar acts, sending a message that the nation will no longer stand for this culture of impunity: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, as it is hereby resolved by the Senate, To condemn in the strongest sense the murder of businessman and philanthropist Dominic Sytin and urge the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other law enforcement agencies to use the full force of the law to bring justice to Dominic Sytin and other victims of similar heinous crimes. aScITE
