Rescinding the Assessments of Certain Land Reclaimed by the Government
Act No. 2731, enacted on February 15, 1918, rescinds previous assessments of land reclaimed by the government in Manila and allows for their reappraisal at the discretion of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources. It provides a mechanism for individuals or entities currently leasing these lands to petition for a reassessment within ninety days of the Act's approval, given they are not in violation of their lease terms. Any new appraisals will lead to potential revisions of existing leases without the need for re-advertisement. Leases revised under this Act will adhere to specific provisions set forth in an earlier law, with the first reappraisal occurring five years post-execution or revision.
