Requirements for Enrolment or Renewal of OFWs under the Overseas Workers Program

PHILHEALTH ADVISORY NO. 09-03-11
REQUIREMENTS FOR ENROLMENT OR RENEWAL OF OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS (OFWs) UNDER THE OVERSEAS WORKERS PROGRAM
To facilitate the enrolment or renewal of membership coverage of members under the Overseas Workers Program (OWP), ANY of the following documents shall now be accepted as valid proof of the member being an active OFW:
1. Valid Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC)
2. Valid Working Visa/Re-entry Permit
3. Valid Job Employment Contract IAcDET
4. Certificate of Employment for applicable period from employer abroad
5. Valid company ID issued by employer abroad
6. Cash remittance receipt from member abroad, at least two monthsprior to the date of renewal or payment
7. Valid ID or certificate issued to OFWs in the host country (e.g., Iqama, HK ID, Soggiorno)
8. Any other equivalent proof, subject to the approval of the authorized officer
The above documents may be accepted as long as these establish that the member is an active OFW regardless of the number of months or days remaining in the validity or effectivity period stated in the contract, visa, permit, certificate, or ID at the time of payment.
An active OFW enjoys the privileged of paying only P900.00 annual premium and is entitled to PhilHealth benefits effective on the date of payment.
