Repeal of Sec. 21 of Act No. 2472 (Locust Act)
Republic Act No. 127, approved on June 14, 1947, repeals Section 21 of the Locust Act (Act No. 2472), which previously exempted certain individuals from participating in locust control efforts. The exemptions affected officers of the National Government, employees of common carrier companies, religious leaders, medical professionals, pharmacists, and designated local officials. With this repeal, these individuals are now required to engage in locust destruction activities as part of their civic duties. The law took effect immediately upon approval and was published in the Official Gazette in July 1947.
