Reorganization of Office of External Affairs
Executive Order No. 505, issued on February 7, 2006, reorganizes the Office of External Affairs in the Philippines. It amends the previous Executive Order No. 367 by renaming the Office of Constituency Affairs to the Office of External Affairs, which will now be led by an Undersecretary for External Affairs under the supervision of the Political Adviser. EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 505
REORGANIZING THE OFFICE OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 344 of 2004 created the Office of the Political Adviser and the Office of Constituency Affairs;
WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 367 of 2004 renamed the Office of Constituency Affairs as the Office of External Affairs;
WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 501 of 2006 transferred the system of Presidential Advisers/Assistants for Regional Concerns from the Office of External Affairs to the Office of the Executive Secretary;
WHEREAS, under Section 31, Chapter 10, Title III, Book III of the Administrative Code of 1987, the President has the continuing authority to reorganize the administrative structure of the Office of the President;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA M. ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law and the Constitution, do hereby order: 2uplaws06
SECTION 1. Amendment. — Section 1 of Executive Order No. 367 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. Office of External Relations. — The Office of Constituency Affairs created by EO 344 is hereby renamed Office of External Affairs. It shall be headed by an Undersecretary for External Affairs, who shall be under the supervision and control of the Political Adviser." aEcSIH
SECTION 2. Effectivity. — This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
