REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1239

AN ACT REQUIRING THE REGISTRATION OF AGENTS, CONTRACTORS AND DEALERS IN LOGS, LUMBER AND COMMERCIAL PILES

SECTION 1. Any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, any agent, contractor, or dealer in logs, lumber and commercial piles shall register with the Bureau of Forestry.

SECTION 2. The Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.

SECTION 3. All persons found to be directly or indirectly responsible for the violation of this Act or of the rules and regulations issued thereunder shall be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand pesos or imprisonment of not more than one year. acd

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
