REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9217
AN ACT DECLARING APRIL 15 OF EVERY YEAR AS PRESIDENT MANUEL A. ROXAS MEMORIAL DAY, THEREBY ASSIGNING THE NEAREST FRIDAY TO IT AS A SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAY IN THE ENTIRE PROVINCE OF CAPIZ AND ROXAS CITY IN COMMEMORATION OF THE DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LATE PRESIDENT
SECTION 1. Short Title. — This Act shall be known as the President Manuel A. Roxas Memorial Day Act.
SECTION 2. General Provision. — As a tribute to the unselfish acts of President Manuel A. Roxas, April 15 of every year is hereby declared as President Manuel A. Roxas Memorial Day, thereby assigning the nearest Friday to it as a special non-working holiday in the entire Province of Capiz and Roxas City in commemoration of the death anniversary of the late president.
SECTION 3. Repealing Clause. — All provisions of law, presidential decrees, letters of instruction and other issuances inconsistent with this Act are hereby deemed repealed and/or amended.
SECTION 4. Effectivity. — This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after publication in two (2) newspapers of national circulation or in the Official Gazette. HIaAED
