Prescribing the Qualifications of the Electors of Municipal Officers in the Provinces of Batanes, Mindoro, and Palawan
Act No. 2600, enacted on February 4, 1916, establishes the qualifications and election procedures for municipal officers in the provinces of Batanes, Mindoro, and Palawan. The act mandates that the president and vice-president be elected at large by qualified voters, while barrio councilors are chosen by their respective barrio electors, with all terms lasting four years. Elections for these positions coincide with general municipal elections across the Philippines, and newly elected officials will assume office on the same day as their counterparts in other provinces. Existing municipal officers will remain in their positions until the new officials are duly elected and qualified. The act becomes effective immediately upon passage.
