LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 332

WHEREAS, the Maritime Industry Authority was created under Presidential Decree No. 474 to implement the policy of the State to accelerate the integrated development of the maritime industry;
WHEREAS, since its creation on June 1, 1974, a series of Presidential Decrees have been issued increasing its functions and responsibilities;
WHEREAS, it has thereby become imperative to establish a strong organizational framework and staffing pattern that can effectively and efficiently respond to the needs of the industry;
WHEREAS, the appointment and retention of expert technical and professional personnel have become an equally pressing problem which can only be solved by making their salary rates comparable with those in the private sector;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution, do hereby direct the Administrator, Maritime Industry Authority, to prepare, subject to approval by this Office, an organizational structure, staffing pattern and salary scales for the Authority that will be responsive to the needs of the industry.
DONE in the City of Manila, this 29th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Five.
