Postponing the Date for Filing Certificate of Candidacy for Sectoral Representatives
Presidential Decree No. 1301, issued on February 14, 1978, postpones the deadline for filing certificates of candidacy for sectoral representatives to the interim Batasang Pambansa to March 7, 1978. This decision follows representations from concerned sectors, allowing for a more orderly election process due to the time gap between the elections for regional and sectoral representatives. The decree also prohibits individuals from filing for both regional and sectoral positions simultaneously, requiring those who have done so to choose one and cancel the other by the deadline. Additionally, any withdrawal or cancellation of a candidacy must be formally documented through a sworn statement.
