REPUBLIC ACT NO. 4405
AN ACT TO NATIONALIZE THE POSITIONS OF ASSISTANT PROVINCIAL HEALTH OFFICERS, PROVINCIAL, CITY AND MUNICIPAL NURSES, SANITARY INSPECTORS, AND MIDWIVES, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The positions of assistant provincial health officers, as well as the positions of provincial, city or municipal sanitary inspectors, nurses and midwives not covered by Republic Act Numbered One thousand eighty-two, as amended by Republic Act Numbered One thousand eight hundred ninety-one, are hereby nationalized and shall be partly paid from the national funds.
SECTION 2. The positions mentioned under Section one hereof shall be subject to the WAPCO classification but no assistant provincial health officers shall receive salaries, by virtue of this Act, lower than what they are now receiving under Republic Act Numbered One thousand eight hundred thirty-six. The provincial, city or municipal sanitary inspectors, nurses and midwives shall have the same category and shall receive same salaries as those in the same positions covered by Republic Act Numbered One thousand eighty-two, as amended by Republic Act Numbered One thousand eight hundred ninety-one. cdt
SECTION 3. Assistant provincial health officers, provincial, city and municipal nurses, sanitary inspectors, and midwives shall continue to receive their present salaries from their respective provincial, city and municipal funds and the difference in pay as a result of the classification by the WAPCO shall be paid from the national funds appropriated for the purpose.
SECTION 4. The provincial, city and municipal sanitary inspectors, nurses, and midwives covered by this Act shall be integrated into the rural health units of the Department of Health within six months from the approval of this Act.
SECTION 5. The sum of three million pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to carry into effect the provisions of this Act. cd
SECTION 6. The Secretary of Health shall promulgate rules and regulations to implement the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 7. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
