REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3080
AN ACT PROVIDING THAT THE HIGHWAY FROM THE CITY OF MANILA TO THE MUNICIPALITY OF LINGAYEN, PROVINCE OF PANGASINAN, PASSING THROUGH THE MUNICIPALITY OF TARLAC, PROVINCE OF TARLAC, AND THE MUNICIPALITIES OF VILLASIS, URDANETA, STA. BARBARA, CALASIAO, DAGUPAN, AND BINMALEY, ALL IN THE PROVINCE OF PANGASINAN, SHALL HEREAFTER BE KNOWN AS THE MACARTHUR HIGHWAY
WHEREAS, General of the Army Douglas MacArthur and his gallant forces wrote one of the most inspiring and glorious chapters in the annals of human freedom through their brilliant military operations during World War II which led to the liberation of the Philippines; and cd
WHEREAS, as a fitting expression of the profound gratitude of the Filipino people to the liberator of the Philippines for his priceless contribution to Philippine history, the highway through which his liberation forces passed in the reconquest of the City of Manila should be named in his honor: Now, therefore, casia
SECTION 1. The highway from the City of Manila to the Municipality of Lingayen, Province of Pangasinan, passing through the Municipality of Tarlac, Province of Tarlac, and the Municipalities of Villasis, Urdaneta, Sta. Barbara, Calasio, Dagupan, and Binmaley, all in the Province of Pangasinan, shall hereafter be known as the MacArthur Highway in honor of General of the Army Douglas MacArthur, the Liberator of the Philippines.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
