REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5706
AN ACT MAKING THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES ALUMNI ASSOCIATION A MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF REGENTS THEREOF, FURTHER AMENDING FOR THIS PURPOSE, ACT NUMBERED EIGHTEEN HUNDRED SEVENTY, AS AMENDED
SECTION 1. The first paragraph of Section four of Act Numbered Eighteen hundred seventy, as amended, is hereby further amended to read as follows: aisa dc
"SEC. 4. The government of said university is vested in a board of regents to be known as the Board of Regents of the University of the Philippines. The Board of Regents shall be composed of the Secretary of Education, who shall be ex-officio chairman of the Board, the Chairman of the Committee on Education of the Senate, the Chairman of the Committee on Education of the House of Representatives, the President of the University, the Director of Public Schools, the President of the University of the Philippines Alumni Association, and seven additional members to be appointed by the President of the Philippines, with the consent of the Commission on Appointments of the Congress of the Philippines: Provided, That at least four of the additional members shall be selected from among the alumni of the University of the Philippines. The President of the University shall be elected and his compensation shall be fixed by the Board of Regents."
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
