Increase in Stipends of National State Scholars
Letter of Instructions No. 458, issued on September 8, 1976, by President Ferdinand E. Marcos, addresses the need to enhance financial support for national state scholars in the Philippines. The directive increases the annual allowance for each scholar to a maximum of P3,000, effective September 1, 1976, along with an annual book allowance of P500. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by deserving students in pursuit of their education. Additionally, the Budget Commissioner is tasked with ensuring the necessary funds are allocated from the Special Activities Fund to support these increased allowances.
