Incentives for Science Research and Funds for Natural Science Research Center

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6069

AN ACT PROVIDING INCENTIVES FOR SCIENCE RESEARCH AND FUNDS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE NATURAL SCIENCE RESEARCH CENTER, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTIONS FIVE AND EIGHT OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-SEVEN

SECTION 1. Section five of Republic Act Numbered Three thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven is hereby amended by inserting after sub-paragraph (f) thereof a new sub-paragraph to be known as sub-paragraph (g) which shall read as follows: cd

"(g) To provide additional incentives, through grants and honoraria, to scholars and researchers in science at rates fixed by the Board of Regents, any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding."

SECTION 2. Section eight of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:

"Sec. 8. To provide the facilities and financial support for the Center, the sum of two million pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated from the funds of the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the capital and operating requirements of the Center for the current fiscal year. Starting with fiscal year nineteen hundred seventy-one the sum of three hundred thousand pesos shall be added to the annual appropriations of the University of the Philippines for the operation and maintenance of the Center." cd i

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
