LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 919

In order to meet the requirements of the fishing industry under the accelerated fishery development program which I reported before the Batasang Pambansa last 23 August 1979, authority is hereby granted for the importation of about 20 second-hand fishing vessels and fish carriers up to 15 years old, with an additional three (3) years in meritorious cases for a period of two (2) years from the date hereof, notwithstanding the provisions of MARINA Circular No. 17. MARINA shall ensure that the vessels to be imported under the program shall be at reasonable prices and of acceptable condition as shown by independent marine surveyor's reports. casia
