CHED MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 20-08
| SUBJECT | : | Guidelines in the Grant of Provisional Permit for a Period of One (1) Year to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with Non-Accredited Programs for Purposes of Registration to Establish and Operate Review Centers as Required Under Section 1, Rule VII of the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Executive Order No. 566 |
In accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act No. 7722, otherwise known as the "Higher Education Act of 1994" and pursuant to the provisions of Executive Order No. 566 directing the Commission on Higher Education to regulate the establishment and operation of review centers and similar entities and by virtue of CHED En Banc Resolution No. 167-2008 dated May 5, 2008, the following shall be the guidelines in the grant of Provisional Permit for a period of one (1) year to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with non-accredited programs for purposes of registration to establish and operate review centers as required under Section I, Rule VII of the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Executive Order No. 566;
1. The HEI, the program/s applied for purposes of registration to operate a review center is not accredited, shall be qualified to operate under a Provisional Permit for a period of one (1) year from the date of its issuance, provided all the requirements under the aforesaid IRR are fully complied with.
2. The HEI, prior to the expiration of the Provisional Permit issued, shall inform the Commission of the accreditation of the program for the issuance of a regular permit for a period of three (3) years from the time of the expiration of the provisional permit.
3. Failure on the part of the HEI to secure an accreditation of program/s on or before the expiration of the Provisional Permit shall bar them to continue operate a review center. HEacDA
