PRC BOARD OF ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING RESOLUTION NO. 36-02
GUIDELINES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SECTION 25, ARTICLE III OF R.A. NO. 7920 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE "NEW ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING LAW" (RE: INTEGRATION OF THE ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING PROFESSIONS)
WHEREAS, Section 25, Article III of R.A. No. 7920 provides that "Every professional electrical engineer, registered electrical engineer and registered master electrician upon registration with the Board as such, ipso facto, become a member of the integrated national organization".
WHEREAS, notwithstanding their registration under Section 42, Article V of R.A. No. 7920, Professional Electrical Engineers, Registered Electrical Engineers and Registered Master Electricians have not become members of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE), the accredited integrated association of Electrical Engineering professions (Professional Electrical Engineer, Registered Electrical Engineer and Registered Master Electrician) pursuant to Resolution No. 616 issued by the Commission on May 25, 1999.
WHEREFORE, the Board resolved as it hereby resolves to adopt the following guidelines for the integration of all Professional Electrical Engineers, Registered Electrical Engineers and Registered Master Electricians into one national organization by becoming members of the IIEE:
SECTION 1. To insure the effective implementation of Section 25, Art. III of R.A. No. 7920, which provides for the integration of the Electrical Engineering professions, every professional electrical engineer, registered electrical engineer and registered master electrician who registered as such pursuant to Sec. 42 of R.A. No. 7920, has been ipso facto member of the integrated national organization of the electrical engineering professions and, as such, shall be required, for the renewal of their respective professional licenses/identification cards, to present the official receipt of payment of membership fee or certification of payment of membership fee duly issued or signed by the authorized officer of the IIEE.
SECTION 2. All successful examinees in licensing examinations for the electrical engineering professions (professional electrical engineer, registered electrical engineer and registered master electrician) shall, before issuing their respective Certificates of Registration/Professional Licenses and Identification Cards, be required to present the official receipt of payment of membership fee or certification of payment of membership fee issued or signed by the authorized officer of the IIEE.
This Resolution shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation in the Philippines, whichever is earlier.
Let copies of this Resolution be furnished the National Officials and Local Chapter Officials of the IIEE for their information and guidance.
