Grant of Subsidy to the Iron and Steel Authority for Importation of Tinplates
Letter of Instructions No. 719, issued on July 11, 1978, directs the Minister of the Budget to allocate a government subsidy to cover taxes and fees from the National Steel Corporation's importation of tinplates. These tinplates are essential for the domestic milk industry, facilitating milk processing under a government pricing scheme. The Iron and Steel Authority will oversee the importation and distribution to local milk processors, ensuring that the costs do not lead to higher milk prices. This initiative aims to support basic commodity pricing while maintaining regulatory oversight.
