REPUBLIC ACT NO. 45
AN ACT TO FIX THE DATE OF THE REGULAR ELECTIONS FOR ELECTIVE PROVINCIAL, CITY AND MUNICIPAL OFFICES, AND OF THE ELECTION OF THE EIGHT SENATORS WHO WILL SUCCEED THOSE WHOSE TERM OF OFFICE WILL EXPIRE ON DECEMBER THIRTIETH, NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-SEVEN
SECTION 1. On the second Tuesday of November, nineteen hundred and forty-seven, and on the same day every four years thereafter, a regular election shall be held to elect the officials who will occupy all elective provincial, city or municipal offices throughout the Philippines. The officials elected shall assume office on the first day of January next following and shall hold such office for four years until their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified. acd
SECTION 2. The election of the eight Senators who will succeed those whose term of office will expire on the thirtieth of December, nineteen hundred and forty-seven, shall also be held on the second Tuesday of November, nineteen hundred and forty-seven.
SECTION 3. All laws or parts thereof inconsistent within the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
