Financing and Completion of National Orthopedic Hospital in Quezon City
Republic Act No. 2679, enacted on June 18, 1960, authorizes the Secretary of Health to secure a loan of three million pesos from either the Government Service Insurance System or the Social Security System for the completion of the National Orthopedic Hospital in Quezon City. The construction will be overseen by the Secretary of Public Works and Communications. REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2679
AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE FINANCING OF THE COMPLETION OF THE NATIONAL ORTHOPEDIC HOSPITAL IN QUEZON CITY AND THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT
SECTION 1. The Secretary of Health is hereby authorized to negotiate and obtain a loan of three million pesos from the Government Service Insurance System or the Social Security System, and the Government Service Insurance System and the Social Security System are hereby authorized to grant such loan, the proceeds of which shall be used for the completion of the National Orthopedic Hospital building in Quezon City. The construction of said building shall be under the supervision of the Secretary of Public Works and Communications.
SECTION 2. In order to provide funds for the amortization of the loan provided for in the preceding section and for the purchase of equipment for said hospital, the Philippines Charity Sweepstakes Office is authorized to hold a lottery each year, the whole proceeds of which shall, after deducting the payment of the prizes and expenses as provided for in Republic Act Numbered Eleven hundred sixty-nine, as amended, be turned over to the Secretary of Health.
SECTION 3. All disbursement of funds provided for in this Act shall be subject to established rules and regulations governing disbursement of public funds.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
