FDA Clearance of Respiratory Therapy Devices Prior Customs Release
The FDA Advisory No. 2020-761, issued on April 29, 2020, outlines procedures to expedite the customs release of Respiratory Therapy Devices intended for COVID-19 treatment. Importers are only required to present copies of their License to Operate for customs clearance. Additionally, foreign donations of these devices do not require FDA clearance prior to customs release. These procedures will remain in effect until further notice.

FDA ADVISORY NO. 2020-761

| SUBJECT | : | FDA Clearance of Respiratory Therapy Devices Prior Customs Release |
In order to expedite customs release of Respiratory Therapy Devices to be used in treating COVID-19 patients, the following procedures shall be observed.
Importers of Respiratory Therapy Devices need only to present copies of their License to Operate prior customs release. HTcADC
Also, foreign donations of Respiratory Therapy Devices to be used in treating COVID-19 patients need not require clearance from FDA prior customs release.
Said procedures shall be in effect until otherwise lifted.
