Extending the Filing of Application for Amnesty
Presidential Decree No. 158, issued on March 17, 1973, extends the deadline for filing applications for amnesty under Presidential Decree No. 95 and No. 124 to April 15, 1973. This extension is granted to ensure that individuals in remote areas who may not have been fully informed about the amnesty provisions can still apply. The decree acknowledges the intention of many to surrender and benefit from the amnesty due to the limited dissemination of information. Additionally, it reaffirms that existing rules and regulations regarding these decrees will remain effective unless modified by this order.

DEADLINE FOR THE FILING OF APPLICATION FOR AMNESTY UNDER PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 95 AND PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 124 IS EXTENDED UNTIL APRIL 15, 1973
WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 95, dated January 11, 1973 and Presidential Decree No. 124, dated February 2, 1973 were promulgated by me as a measure of restoring peace and order in the country, and unifying the Filipino Nation; casia
WHEREAS, the period within which to file applications for amnesty in accordance with the said Presidential Decrees expired on February 28, 1973 and March 15, 1973, respectively;
WHEREAS, in view of the limited period within which to disseminate fully the details of the said Presidential Decrees, especially in the remote areas of the country, many of those who could have availed themselves of the benefits of amnesty therein proclaimed were unable to file their applications on time;
WHEREAS, reports from field units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and feelers from leaders of misguided elements revealed that many have signified their intention to surrender to the military authorities and avail of the amnesty in accordance with said Presidential Decrees; casia
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, pursuant to Proclamations No. 1081, dated September 21, 1972 and No. 1104, dated January 17, 1973, and in my capacity as Commander-in-Chief of all the Armed Forces of the Philippines, do hereby order and decree that the deadline for the filing of application for amnesty under Presidential Decree No. 95, dated January 11, 1973 and Presidential Decree No. 124, dated February 2, 1973 is extended until April 15, 1973.
I do further order and decree that the rules and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Justice and the Secretary of National Defense, as well as all other administrative orders, rules and regulations in the implementation of the aforesaid Presidential Decrees, shall continue to be in full force and effect except as they may be inconsistent herewith and therefore amended and modified accordingly.
