Extending the Control and Administration of the Philippine Tourism Authority Over the Pagsanjan Gorge Tourist Zone

Letter of Instructions No. 455, issued on September 1, 1976, directs the Secretary of Tourism to enhance the Philippine Tourism Authority's control over the Pagsanjan Gorge Tourist Zone. This measure aims to address the disruptive activities of vendors and hawkers selling souvenir items in motorized bancas, which detract from the experience of "shooting the rapids" in Pagsanjan, Laguna. The authority’s jurisdiction extends from the Pagsanjan Falls downstream to the area near the Pagsanjan Rapids Hotel, including the riverbanks, as previously established by Proclamation No. 1551 on May 31, 1976.
