REPUBLIC ACT NO. 4828
AN ACT ESTABLISHING A FRESH-WATER FISH FARM AND HATCHERY IN BARRIO LOOC, MUNICIPALITY OF CARDONA, PROVINCE OF RIZAL, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SECTION 1. There shall be established and maintained, a fresh-water fish farm and hatchery under the supervision of the Philippine Fisheries Commission at a suitable site along the lake foreshore of Barrio Looc, Municipality of Cardona, Province of Rizal, to be known as the Rizal Fresh-Water Fish Farm and Hatchery, which shall primarily perform the following functions:
(a) To conduct experiments in various aspects of fresh-water fish culture; acd
(b) To cultivate, propagate and disseminate various economic and valuable species of fresh-water fish for culture and stocking purposes; and
(c) To serve as a demonstration station in fish farming; impart modern fresh-water fish culture and propagation techniques; extend technical assistance and extension services; conduct development surveys, lectures, meetings and seminars; engage in cooperating activities with other government entities; and do other related work.
SECTION 2. The Commissioner of Fisheries shall promulgate such rules and regulations not inconsistent with law as may be necessary to carry into effect the purpose of this Act.
SECTION 3. The sum of two hundred fifty thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment, operation and maintenance of the fresh-water fish farm and hatchery during the fiscal year nineteen hundred sixty-seven. Such sums as may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of the project for the succeeding years shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. cdt
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
