Republic Act No. 5880, enacted on June 21, 1969, establishes the Davao del Sur School of Fisheries in Malalag, Davao. The school will be supervised by the Director of Vocational Education, and the Secretary of Education is tasked with creating necessary regulations for its operation. An initial appropriation of five hundred thousand pesos is allocated for its establishment and maintenance in the fiscal year 1970, with future funding to be included in the annual General Appropriations Act. The Act took effect immediately upon approval and was published in the Official Gazette on February 23, 1970.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5880

AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SCHOOL OF FISHERIES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MALALAG, PROVINCE OF DAVAO, TO BE KNOWN AS THE DAVAO DEL SUR SCHOOL OF FISHERIES, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR

SECTION 1. There shall be established, under the supervision of the Director of Vocational Education, a school of fisheries in the Municipality of Malalag, Province of Davao, to be known as the Davao del Sur School of Fisheries. cd

SECTION 2. The Secretary of Education shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.

SECTION 3. The sum of five hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment, operation and maintenance of said school during the fiscal year nineteen hundred seventy. Thereafter, such sums as may be needed for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
