Republic Act No. 8270, enacted on March 1, 1997, establishes the Dacudao National High School by separating the Calinan National High School Annex located in Barangay Dacudao, Davao City, from the main Calinan National High School. This act designates the annex as an independent national high school and mandates the Department of Education, Culture and Sports to issue the necessary regulations for its operation. Funding for the new school will be included in the General Appropriations Act for the following year and beyond. The law took effect upon its approval and lapsed into law without the President's signature.

AN ACT SEPARATING THE CALINAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ANNEX IN BARANGAY DACUDAO, FROM THE CALINAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN CALINAN, BOTH IN DAVAO CITY, AND CONVERTING IT INTO A SEPARATE AND INDEPENDENT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, TO BE KNOWN AS THE DACUDAO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. The Calinan National High School Annex in Barangay Dacudao, Calinan, Davao City, is hereby separated from the Calinan National High School in Calinan, also of the same city, and converted into a separate and independent national high school, to be known as the Dacudao National High School.
SECTION 2. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act. cd
SECTION 3. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
