REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1859
AN ACT TO ESTABLISH A REGIONAL MEDICAL AND TRAINING CENTER IN DAVAO CITY AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
SECTION 1. A regional medical and training center is hereby established in Davao City.
SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of three million pesos to construct and equip the required buildings for the Davao Regional Medical and Training Center.
SECTION 3. After the completion of the new buildings, the funds necessary for the operation and maintenance of this Regional Medical and Training Center and computed at eight to ten pesos per bed per day at the least, shall be included in the yearly appropriation Acts: Provided, That the bed capacity of this hospital shall be at least three hundred and fifty beds. acd
SECTION 4. Once this Center is in full operation, all patients requiring hospitalization for special medical services in the Mindanao and Sulu areas and who cannot be given such services in their local hospitals shall be referred to the Davao Regional Medical and Training Center.
SECTION 5. The supervision and control of the Davao Regional Medical and Training Center is vested in the Secretary of Health, whose power shall be exercised through the Davao Regional Health Director.
SECTION 6. All Acts or parts of the Acts inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed or amended.
SECTION 7. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
