LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 617

WHEREAS, it is the declared policy of the State to foster the creation and growth of cooperatives as a means of increasing income and purchasing power of the low-income sector of the population in order to attain a more equitable distribution of income and wealth;
WHEREAS, the Cooperative Marketing System of the Philippines, Inc. is a cooperative duly organized under the Presidential Decree No. 175 and Letter of Implementation No. 23 to serve as the national marketing arm of the Area Marketing Cooperatives, Samahang Nayons and their farmer-members;
WHEREAS, the Samahang Nayon members require agricultural inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides and chemicals and agricultural equipment;
NOW, THEREFORE, you are hereby directed as follows:
1. To elect a representative of the Cooperative Marketing System of the Philippines, Inc. to the Board of Directors of Planters Products Inc.
2. To extend the necessary assistance to Cooperative Marketing System of the Philippines, Inc. in the distribution of said farm inputs and equipment; cd
3. To authorize Cooperative Marketing System of the Philippines, Inc. to allocate and distribute exclusively to all Area Marketing Cooperatives and Samahang Nayon members their fertilizer requirements.
DONE in the City of Manila, this 21st day of October, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Seventy-Seven.
