In pursuance of the beautification, environmental development and anti-pollution program, the government has launched a tree planting campaign all over the country.
1. The Secretaries of Natural Resources and Agriculture are hereby directed to provide the necessary materials and guidelines on how to plant ornamental, fruit and other kinds of trees. acd
2. The Secretary of Public Highways shall see to it that fruit and ornamental plants and trees are planted along highways provided that they do not pose hazard to the motoring public.
3. The Secretary of Education and Culture shall require the planting of trees by pupils and faculty members in all campuses in public and private schools, or in such places as the school principal may indicate after consultation with the municipal or city mayor. All agricultural schools shall be required to establish nurseries which shall be provide seeds or seedlings for this undertaking.
4. The Secretary of Local Government and Community Development shall see to it that all provincial, city and municipal governments shall maintain nurseries so that they shall be able to provide the necessary seeds or seedlings for distribution to the barangays within their jurisdiction. Each barangay member shall be required to plant at least ten trees every year and to give these trees proper and adequate care to ensure their growth.
5. The Secretary of National Defense shall require the planting of trees in all military camps and reservations.
The tree planting campaign shall be a part of the nation's beautification, environmental development and anti-pollution program.
