PROCLAMATION NO. 2266
DECLARING MARCH 13 TO 19, 1983 AND EVERY SAME WEEK THEREAFTER AS BLUE COLLAR WORKERS WEEK
WHEREAS, it is the goal of the Philippine government to enhance the prestige, welfare and well-being of the Filipino blue-collar workers in recognition of their significant role in the country's socio-economic development; cd
WHEREAS, the holding of a National Youth Skills Olympics in March 1983 has been recommended to focus national attention on the importance of the blue-collar workers particularly among the youth; and
WHEREAS, support from the public and private sectors is required to ensure the success of this vital undertaking;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines do hereby proclaim March 13 to 19, 1983, and every same week thereafter as BLUE COLLAR WORKERS WEEK.
All agencies and instrumentalities of the government and the private sector are hereby enjoined to actively participate to ensure the successful implementation of the National Youth Skills Olympics '83 and the BLUE COLLAR WORKERS WEEK.
All donations or contributions from private agencies or individuals shall be exempt from income, gift, amusement and all other taxes and the same shall be further deductible in full and shall not be included for purposes of computing the maximum amount deductible under Sec. 30, paragraph (h) of the National Internal Revenue Code, as amended by Batas Pambansa Blg. 45.
