PROCLAMATION NO. 436
DECLARING SATURDAY, 31 MARCH 2018, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF SOUTHERN LEYTE
WHEREAS, the first mass in the Philippines was celebrated in the Island of Limasawa, Province of Southern Leyte on 31 March 1521;
WHEREAS, Saturday, 31 March 2018, marks the commemoration of the First Mass in the Philippines in Limasawa Island, Southern Leyte; and
WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Southern Leyte, be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, SALVADOR C. MEDIALDEA, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, do hereby declare Saturday, 31 March 2018, as a special (non-working) day in the Province of Southern Leyte.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
