PROCLAMATION NO. 94
DECLARING SATURDAY, 29 OCTOBER 2016, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF SARANGANI
WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 486 dated 13 October 2003, declaring October 29 of every year a "National Indigenous Peoples Thanksgiving Day";
WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Alabel, Sarangani Province requested that 27 October 2016 be declared as a special non-working day as Indigenous Peoples Day;
WHEREAS, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines recommended that 29 October 2016, instead of 27 October 2016, be declared as a special non-working day in the Province of Sarangani in celebration of the Indigenous Peoples' Day;
WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Sarangani be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, SALVADOR C. MEDIALDEA, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, do hereby declare Saturday, 29 October 2016, as a special (non-working) day in the Province of Sarangani.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
