PROCLAMATION NO. 884
DECLARING FRIDAY, 17 JANUARY 2020, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF KALIBO, PROVINCE OF AKLAN
WHEREAS, the Province of Aklan celebrates the Ati-Atihan Festival every month of January to depict and commemorate the way of life during the period when the ten (10) Bornean Datus landed on and purchased the Island of Panay to settle thereon for a life of peace and freedom;
WHEREAS, the Ati-Atihan Festival highlights the rich cultural heritage of the Filipino and the customs and traditions of Aklan as a province;
WHEREAS, the Ati-Atihan Festival has significantly contributed to the promotion of our tourism industry; and
WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Municipality of Kalibo be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, SALVADOR C. MEDIALDEA, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, do hereby declare Friday, 17 January 2020, a special (non-working) day in the Municipality of Kalibo, Province of Aklan.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
DONE in the City of Manila, this 10th day of January, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Twenty.
