Creation of Surigao del Sur Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture in Surigao del Sur

AN ACT CREATING THE SURIGAO DEL SUR INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES AND AQUACULTURE IN THE PROVINCE OF SURIGAO DEL SUR, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

SECTION 1. There shall be created in the Province of Surigao del Sur, a national institute of fisheries and aquaculture, to be known as the Surigao del Sur Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture, with main campus at the Municipality of Lianga.

SECTION 2. The institute shall be composed of the Lianga National School of Fisheries in the Municipality of Lianga and the following schools which are hereby converted into fisheries schools and integrated into the Surigao del Sur Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture to form branches or units thereof:

a) Anibongan Barangay High School in the Municipality of Lianga;

b) St. Christine Barangay High School in the Municipality of Lianga;

c) Sto. Niño Barangay High School in the Municipality of San Agustin;

d) Antipolo Barangay High School in the Municipality of Marihatag;

e) Rizal Barangay High School in the Municipality of Barobo;

f ) Gamut Barangay High School in the Municipality of Barobo; and

g) Port Lamon Barangay High School in the Municipality of Hinatuan. cd i

SECTION 3. All personnel, assets, liabilities, records and appropriations of the various schools which are made part of the Surigao del Sur Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture are transferred to/absorbed by the said Institute.

SECTION 4. All existing appropriations for the Lianga National School of Fisheries, the Anibongan Barangay High School, the St. Christine Barangay High School, the Sto. Niño Barangay High School, the Antipolo Barangay High School, the Rizal Barangay High School, the Gamut Barangay High School and the Port Lamon Barangay High School are hereby transferred to the Surigao del Sur Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture, to be disbursed in accordance with the provisions of this Act. The necessary sum for the operation and maintenance of the new institute shall be provided for in subsequent General Appropriations Acts, until which time the operation of the institution as an institute shall be deferred, provided that its new name shall take effect upon approval of this Act. cd

SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
