Creation of Municipality of Pitogo, Bohol

Republic Act No. 5864, enacted on June 21, 1969, establishes the Municipality of Pitogo in the Province of Bohol by separating the barrios of Basiao, Aguining, Tugas, Bonbonon, and Gaus from the Municipality of Ubay. The new municipality will have its seat of government in the barrio of Pitogo. The initial local government officials, including the mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors, will be appointed by the President and will serve until the next general elections. This Act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on February 16, 1970.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5864

AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF PITOGO IN THE PROVINCE OF BOHOL

SECTION 1. The barrios of Basiao, Aguining, Tugas, Bonbonon, and Gaus in the Municipality of Ubay, Province of Bohol, are separated from said municipality, and constituted into a distinct and independent municipality, to be known as the Municipality of Pitogo. The seat of government of the new municipality shall be in the present site of the barrio of Pitogo. cdt

SECTION 2. The first mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors of the new municipality shall be appointed by the President alone and shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected in the next general elections for local officials and shall have qualified.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. casia
