Creation of Municipality of Dianaton, Lanao del Sur
Republic Act No. 4790, enacted on June 18, 1966, established the Municipality of Dianaton in Lanao del Sur, separating several barrios from the municipalities of Butig and Balabagan. The newly formed municipality's seat of government is designated as Togaig. Local elections for the first mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors are set to occur in the 1967 general elections. Despite its establishment, the law was later deemed unconstitutional in the case of Lidasan v. COMELEC.
