Creation of Municipality of Callang, Isabela
Republic Act No. 2048, enacted on June 23, 1957, establishes the Municipality of Callang in the Province of Isabela by separating several barrios from the Municipality of Roxas. The new municipality's government will be based in the barrio of Callang. REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2048
AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF CALLANG, PROVINCE OF ISABELA
SECTION 1. The barrios of Callang, Eden, Babanuang, Cabaritan, Sta. Cruz, Malalinta, Mararigue, Calaocan, and Caraniogan, Municipality of Roxas, Province of Isabela, are separated from said municipality and are constituted into a new municipality, to be known as the Municipality of Callang, Province of Isabela, with the seat of government at the site of the present barrio of Callang. casia
SECTION 2. The first mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors of the new municipality shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines with the concurrence of the Commission on Appointments and shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected in the next general election for provincial and municipal officials and shall have duly qualified. cdt
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
