Republic Act No. 560, enacted on June 17, 1950, establishes the municipality of Busuanga in Palawan by separating several barrios from the municipality of Coron. The new municipality will use the barrio of New Busuanga as its government seat. Initially, the elective officials of Busuanga will be appointed by the President of the Philippines and will serve until successors are elected and qualified. The Act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette in November 1950.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 560
AN ACT TO CREATE THE MUNICIPALITY OF BUSUANGA IN THE PROVINCE OF PALAWAN
SECTION 1. The barrios of Concepcion, Salvacion, Busuanga, New Busuanga, Buluang, Quezon, Calawit, and Cheey in the municipality of Coron are separated from the said municipality and constituted into a new and regular municipality to be known as the municipality of Busuanga, with the present site of the barrio of New Busuanga as the seat of the government.
SECTION 2. The elective officials of the new municipality shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines and shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected and shall have duly qualified.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
