Creation of Municipal District of Wao in Lanao
Republic Act No. 1584, enacted on June 16, 1956, establishes the Municipal District of Wao in the Province of Lanao by separating the barrios of Wao, Katubungan, Panang, and Capigis from the Municipal District of Maguing. The new district is designated with its seat of government located in Wao. This Act took effect immediately upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on September 15, 1956.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1584
AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPAL DISTRICT OF WAO IN THE PROVINCE OF LANAO
SECTION 1. The barrios of Wao, Katubungan, Panang and Capigis in the Municipal District of Maguing, Province of Lanao, are separated from the said district, and constituted into a separate district in the same province to be known as the Municipal District of Wao, with its seat of government at the poblacion of Wao.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. cdt
