Creation of Camiguin Subprovince in Misamis Oriental

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2021

AN ACT CREATING THE SUBPROVINCE OF CAMIGUIN IN THE PROVINCE OF MISAMIS ORIENTAL

SECTION 1. The island of Camiguin and all the municipalities comprised therein are constituted into a subprovince of the Province of Misamis Oriental to be known as the Subprovince of Camiguin, with the seat of government in the Municipality of Mambajao.

SECTION 2. The provisions of sections twenty-one hundred thirty-seven, twenty-one hundred thirty-eight, twenty-one hundred thirty-nine, twenty-one hundred forty, twenty-one hundred forty-one, twenty-one hundred forty-two, and twenty-one hundred forty-three of the Administrative Code, as amended, shall apply to the Subprovince of Camiguin.

SECTION 3. The Subprovince of Camiguin shall constitute a separate engineering district. cd i

SECTION 4. The lieutenant-governor of the Subprovince of Camiguin shall receive a compensation of three thousand six hundred pesos per annum.

SECTION 5. The first lieutenant-governor of the Subprovince of Camiguin shall be elected in the elections immediately following the approval of this Act, and shall hold office until his successor shall have been elected in the next general elections for provincial and municipal officials and shall have qualified to said office.

SECTION 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
